**LOS ANGELES, CA** – Aputure has unveiled a game-changer in the world of professional lighting with their new Storm 1200x. This high-powered COB light introduces a revolutionary BLAIR color engine, boasting five distinct color emitters for unparalleled color accuracy and brightness.
The BLAIR engine (Blue/Lime/Amber/Indigo/Red) surpasses traditional bi-color LEDs by providing a fuller color spectrum and more accurate white balance. This is especially evident in the indigo emitter, which compensates for the yellow color shift that plagues conventional lighting in photos. The Storm 1200x achieves a remarkable level of consistency across the entire color temperature spectrum, from 2500 Kelvin to 10,000 Kelvin, while also boasting exceptional green/magenta control.
Aputure claims the BLAIR engine mitigates the brightness drop-off inherent in traditional COB lights, allowing the 1200x to maintain a high level of brightness even at the extreme ends of the color temperature scale. The new light also features a user-friendly XY-coordinate graph control system for precise color management.
The Storm 1200x boasts exceptional color accuracy even at low-end dimming, achieving a remarkable 0.1% color shift at approximately 9 lux.
This robust fixture boasts IP56 weatherproofing, ensuring a reliable performance even in challenging conditions. It offers versatile connectivity options including CRMX, DMX, and Bluetooth, and features a newly designed positive-locking Bowens mount for enhanced accessory security.
Aputure is also releasing a redesigned Fresnel kit specifically for the Storm 1200x, further expanding its versatility.
The Aputure Storm 1200x is available for pre-order now at $2,990 and is expected to ship at the end of the month.
