Wed Sep 11 09:14:35 UTC 2024: ## 9/11 Families Demand Justice on 23rd Anniversary, Seeking Support from Presidential Candidates

On the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, families of the victims are renewing their calls for justice, demanding a reckoning with Saudi Arabia’s alleged involvement in the tragedy. In a powerful plea, over 3,000 family members have sent letters to both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, urging them to oppose any normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia unless it explicitly addresses the kingdom’s role in the attacks.

The families are currently awaiting a federal judge’s decision in Manhattan regarding their lawsuit, which accuses the Saudi government of aiding the first al-Qaeda hijackers who landed in the United States at Los Angeles International Airport. They believe that newly uncovered evidence, including a chilling pre-9/11 video, strengthens their case.

This video, allegedly showing a Saudi suspect, Omar Al Bayoumi, “casing the Capitol” in 1999, highlights potential connections between Saudi intelligence and the 9/11 plot. Bayoumi, then a Saudi intelligence operative according to the FBI, is linked to two of the hijackers, Nawaf Al Hazmi and Khalid Al Mihdhar.

Brett Eagleson, whose father perished in the World Trade Center, states, “More than ever, we’re angry now that we’ve seen this new evidence. We deserve better. It’s a nightmare that 23 years later, we have to beg for justice, but we’re going to keep fighting.”

Brian Sullivan, a retired FAA special agent who warned about the risk of a terror attack before 9/11, echoes Eagleson’s sentiments, emphasizing that the American public “have a right to know about the Saudi involvement.”

This anniversary serves as a stark reminder of the 2,977 lives lost on that fateful day, and the families’ unwavering pursuit of justice for their loved ones. They are determined to ensure that the truth about Saudi Arabia’s potential role in the 9/11 attacks is fully revealed and addressed.
