**London, September 10, 2024** – Global agency holding company WPP has acquired London-based independent agency New Commercial Arts (NCA), merging it with its Ogilvy brand. The deal, which follows a similar acquisition by Havas, signifies a trend of strategic expansion in the agency sector.

NCA, founded just four years ago, has quickly gained prominence for its work with brands such as Sainsbury’s, Nationwide, Vodafone, Nando’s, and Paramount+. The agency boasts a team of 90 employees with offices in London and Glasgow.

WPP CEO Mark Read expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, highlighting NCA’s “great team, an impressive roster of clients and a track record of elevating beloved British brands.”

NCA co-founder James Murphy, who also co-founded Adam&Eve, will return to Ogilvy as CEO of both Ogilvy UK and NCA. He called the merger “a game-changer,” stating that joining Ogilvy will provide NCA with access to advanced tools and capabilities, fostering further growth and innovation.

Ogilvy UK CEO Fiona Gordon will be promoted to Global CEO of advertising at Ogilvy.

This acquisition strengthens WPP’s portfolio, which includes major agencies like AKQA, BCW, and Mindshare, solidifying its position in the UK market.
