The highly anticipated second season of Channel 5’s gripping drama “The Teacher” has premiered, featuring a fresh cast of characters, a new location, and a gripping new storyline. This time, the drama centers around art teacher Dani, played by Kara Tointon, who finds herself entangled in a scandal after an affair with a colleague and the mysterious disappearance of a student.
Filming for the new season took place in the stunning landscapes of Wicklow, Ireland, where the production team utilized the same locations as the popular Netflix series “Vikings”. Lead actor Will Mellor, who plays Jimmy Spencer, expressed his enthusiasm for the breathtaking scenery, particularly highlighting the wooded areas used for the camp scenes.
“We had some fantastic locations,” Mellor shared on social media, “Shooting at Lough Dan in Co Wicklow, there was beautiful scenery to work in. It’s where they shot Vikings… It was a stunning location.”
Despite the idyllic setting, filming presented challenges, with unpredictable Irish weather adding an element of difficulty to the shoot. The production’s decision to film in Ireland also allowed for a closer proximity to the cast and crew compared to the first season, which was filmed in Budapest.
“The Teacher” series 2 promises to be just as captivating as its predecessor, starring Sheridan Smith. Viewers can expect a blend of dramatic suspense, breathtaking scenery, and compelling performances that will keep them glued to their screens.
