Mon Sep 09 15:04:40 UTC 2024: ## Dolly Parton Bridge Involved in Multiple Accidents, Despite No Connection to the Country Music Icon

The “Dolly Parton Bridge,” a nickname given to the General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge in Alabama due to its distinctive arching supports resembling Parton’s figure, has been the site of multiple accidents in recent months.

While the country music icon has no direct connection to the bridge beyond her humorous acknowledgement of the nickname, the name continues to be used in headlines, highlighting the bridge’s popular moniker.

Most recently, a crash involving two commercial vehicles shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 near the bridge for several hours. The accident, reported by WKRG, resulted in injuries to both drivers.

This incident follows a July accident where a man jumped from the bridge to avoid injury during a multi-vehicle crash, and a fiery crash in 2015 that resulted in a fatality.

Despite the accidents, Parton remains busy with her numerous ventures, including her successful Dollywood theme park, the launch of a wine collection, a home kitchen collection, and a cookbook, as well as her new beauty line, “Dolly Beauty.”

While the “Dolly Parton Bridge” serves as a reminder of the country music icon’s enduring popularity, it also serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of the road.
