Singer-songwriter Cass McCombs has kept fans on their toes with a flurry of recent activity. The artist, known for his unpredictable approach, has reissued some of his earlier work, including his 2002 EP *Not The Way* and albums *A* and *PREfection*. But the biggest surprise comes in the form of *Seed Cake On Leap Year*, an album McCombs recorded between 1999 and 2000 and just released.
This 10-song LP, featuring the signature acoustic sound of McCombs’ catalog, has been sitting on the shelf for decades. The album was recorded in the San Francisco apartment of Jason Quever, the Papercuts frontman and longtime collaborator with McCombs. Papercuts will be opening for McCombs on several dates of his upcoming tour.
McCombs has also announced a brief tour, hitting cities across the United States in September. The tour will feature both new and classic material, and is sure to be a treat for fans of the enigmatic musician.
