The first shift of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 1 exam on September 11, 2024, has concluded. Candidates who took the exam described it as relatively easy. While General Awareness and English Comprehension sections were found to be straightforward, the Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence and Reasoning sections presented some moderately difficult, conceptual questions.

The exam pattern followed the sample papers, with 100 questions divided equally between the four sections. Over a lakh candidates are expected to take the Tier 1 exam, which will continue until September 26. The exam is held in four shifts throughout the day.

Candidates who clear Tier 1 will move on to Tier 2, which comprises objective type multiple choice questions from various subjects, including Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English Language, and General Awareness. The final stage of the selection process involves medical rounds and document verification.
