Wed Sep 11 06:59:29 UTC 2024: ## Sony Unveils Powerful PS5 Pro, Targeting Enhanced Gaming Experience
**[City, State] –** Sony has officially released its highly anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro, boasting significant upgrades to its popular console. The PS5 Pro is set to hit select markets starting November 7, with a price tag of $699.99.
The new console packs a powerful graphics chip, capable of improved ray-tracing and AI upscaling, making it the most powerful console Sony has ever built, according to Mark Cerny, the company’s lead PlayStation system architect. Compared to the original PS5, the PS5 Pro delivers 45% faster graphics rendering, ensuring smooth gameplay for AAA titles in performance mode.
Key upgrades include a new AMD GPU with a 67% increase in compute units and 28% faster memory, alongside Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) AI-backed upscaling capability. These advancements result in enhanced performance for popular titles like The Last of Us Part II, which will now run at 60fps on PS5 Pro instead of 30fps on the regular PS5.
The PS5 Pro also introduces “Game Boost” technology, ensuring backwards compatibility with over 8,500 PS4 games. Notably, it’s the first Sony console to support Wi-Fi 7 networking and offers double the storage capacity at 2 TB, along with an additional NVMe SSD slot for expansion.
Sony is further enhancing the experience by remastering select PS5 titles specifically for the PS5 Pro, creating “PS5 Pro-enhanced games.” This includes titles like Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered, aiming for smooth 60fps gameplay at 4K resolution. Some games are expected to run at 8K resolution with improved ray-tracing.
While the PS5 Pro lacks a Blu-ray disc drive, it can be purchased separately, similar to the PS5 slim variant. Coloured side panels can also be purchased for customization.
Indian pricing and availability for the PS5 Pro remain undisclosed.
