**Ada, OK** – East Central University (ECU) will celebrate its rich history with a “Through the Decades” themed Homecoming 2024, set for October 5th. The event will showcase the university’s journey from its founding in 1909 to the present day.

“Everyone loves a parade, and this event allows us to come together as a community to celebrate all that is Ada and ECU,” said ECU President Wendell Godwin. “We are proud of the support from the community, alums, the Chickasaw Nation, the City of Ada, and Ada Main Street.”

The parade, set for noon on October 5th, encourages local businesses, organizations, youth groups, and civic organizations to participate. Whether walking, featuring a float, driving, or riding a horse, all are welcome to join the festivities.

“This year’s Homecoming theme is in honor of all the students and alumni who have passed through ECU over the years,” said Director of Alumni Relations, Alyson Smotherman. “It’s a celebration of the university, its history, and our wonderful community.”
