**NEW YORK, Sept. 9, 2024** – QBE North America has announced an extension of its support for Blue Forest, a non-profit dedicated to forest restoration and wildfire prevention. Through November 15, 2024, the QBE Possibilities Fund will match dollar for dollar, up to $200,000, any public or employee donations of at least $100 to Blue Forest’s Forest Resilience Bond (FRB) Catalyst Facility.
This initiative aims to promote philanthropic impact investing, a strategy that combines charitable giving with potential financial returns. By matching donations to Blue Forest, QBE encourages both individual and employee participation in tackling the threat of catastrophic wildfires.
The QBE Possibilities Fund, launched in 2022, focuses on climate resilience, racial equity, and gender equality. This challenge grant allows the fund to reach a broader audience and introduce the CataCap platform, which facilitates philanthropic impact investments.
Mark Pasko, QBE North America’s Chief Legal Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to building resilience in communities. “QBE is proud to be a long-standing supporter of Blue Forest,” said Pasko. “Our purpose is to enable a more resilient future, and that includes supporting organizations like Blue Forest that work to build social, environmental and economic resilience in our communities.”
Blue Forest, founded in 2018, uses the FRB to finance forest restoration projects on private and public lands. By restoring forests, Blue Forest aims to reduce the risk of wildfires while also promoting biodiversity and carbon sequestration.
This challenge grant provides a unique opportunity for individuals and employees to contribute to a crucial cause while potentially generating returns on their investments. For those interested in participating, donations can be made through the CataCap platform at ImpactAssets.
