**LONDON** – The Princess of Wales has announced that she has completed her chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with pre-cancerous cells earlier this year. In a deeply personal video message, released on Monday, the Princess shared her journey, highlighting the challenges she and her family faced over the past nine months.
The video, which shows the royal family enjoying time together in Norfolk, reveals the Princess’s strength and resilience. “Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown,” she says in the video.
The Princess, who was diagnosed following routine abdominal surgery in March, candidly discussed the impact of the cancer journey on her and her family. “The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she states.
The video also emphasizes the Princess’s gratitude for the simple things in life and the importance of family. “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
The Princess has now set her sights on staying cancer-free. She is taking a phased approach to returning to royal duties, focusing on her healing and recovery. While she will be working from home and undertaking a limited number of public engagements in the coming months, she plans to join other members of the Royal Family at the Cenotaph for Remembrance Sunday in November.
The Princess concluded her message by expressing gratitude for the public’s support and acknowledging those who are also undergoing their own cancer journeys. “Everyone’s kindness, empathy, and compassion has been truly humbling,” she said. “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
