**London, UK** – Production has commenced in the UK on “Pressure,” a World War Two drama starring Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser. The film, directed by Anthony Maras (known for “Hotel Mumbai”), tells the story of the chief meteorological officer responsible for predicting the weather during the crucial lead-up to the D-Day landings in Normandy.
Scott plays the lead role, with Fraser portraying President Dwight Eisenhower. Kerry Condon joins the cast as a key aide to Eisenhower. Filming is taking place at locations including Mentmore Towers in Buckinghamshire.
The screenplay for “Pressure” was co-written by Maras and David Haig, based on Haig’s stage play. Working Title Films, in co-production with Studiocanal, are producing the film, with Studiocanal also handling global distribution.
“Pressure” is just one of several exciting projects currently in production or development in the UK film industry. These include “Sujo,” the first film from newly formed company Beam Films, and a feature combining talent from across Southeast Asia.
