**NAPLES, ITALY** – Scottish midfielders Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour have returned to Naples after representing their country in the Nations League. The pair, who play for Serie A club Napoli, flew back to Italy on a private jet Sunday night following Scotland’s 2-1 loss to Portugal.
McTominay and Gilmour will resume training with their Napoli teammates on Tuesday after the international break. They are expected to be available for the club’s first Serie A match after the break, a trip to Cagliari on September 15th.
McTominay found the back of the net for Scotland in the loss to Portugal, but it wasn’t enough to overcome goals from Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The duo’s return is a boost for Napoli manager Antonio Conte as they prepare for the demanding Serie A season.
