**OTTAWA** – The capital’s professional women’s hockey team has unveiled a powerful new identity: the Ottawa Charge. The name, unveiled Monday alongside logos for all six Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ League (PWHL) franchises, embodies the city’s spirit of progress and dynamism.

The Charge’s logo, featuring a stylized “O” (or “C”?) that appears in motion, is a vibrant mix of red, grey, and yellow. It represents the team’s energy and the electrifying atmosphere expected at their games.

“Charge” is a direct tribute to Ottawa’s motto, “Advance – Ottawa – En Avant,” reflecting the city’s constant growth and forward momentum as Canada’s capital. The team’s redesigned website echoes this message, promising high-voltage hockey and inviting fans to “join the surge.”

The team’s new uniforms will be revealed closer to the start of the upcoming season, which will see an expanded 30-game schedule for each team. While the schedule has yet to be released, the PWHL promises a season full of exciting hockey.

While the team initially explored the name “Ottawa Alert” last fall, the “Charge” ultimately emerged as a more dynamic and fitting representation of the city and its team. With its powerful new identity, the Ottawa Charge is poised to make a significant impact on both the city and the PWHL.
