**KOLKATA:** The parents of the deceased trainee doctor from Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College have expressed dissatisfaction with the role of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the investigation of their daughter’s murder. They have demanded a CBI investigation into the case, citing their “unsatisfied role” of the CM.
The victim’s father, speaking to ANI, stated that the CM “hasn’t done any work” and that the incident was not the act of just one person, but a wider conspiracy involving individuals within the department. He also condemned the CM’s recent comments encouraging people to celebrate Durga Puja, stating that “no one will celebrate with happiness” considering the tragedy.
The victim’s mother echoed this sentiment, highlighting the inhumanity of the CM’s request for doctors to resume duties. “Durga Puja will never be celebrated in my house again,” she said. “How can I ask people to return to the festival?”
The parents emphasized their commitment to continue their movement until justice is served for their daughter, who was raped and murdered inside the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College on August 9th.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for swift justice. The parents’ criticism of the CM’s handling of the case adds further pressure on the government to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation.
