**LAS VEGAS** – Nathan Fletcher made a triumphant UFC debut, submitting Zygimantas Ramaska via arm-triangle choke in the second round of their featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night 242 on Saturday.

Fletcher, a seasoned veteran with seven submission wins in his career, dominated the fight despite facing a familiar opponent. He and Ramaska had been teammates on Season 32 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” giving Fletcher a unique insight into his opponent’s fighting style.

“I knew his game better than any opponent I’ve ever had,” Fletcher said after the fight. “The pressure was taken off because I knew him so well. It played out near enough how I thought.”

The victory was particularly satisfying for Fletcher, who faced several setbacks in his journey to the UFC, including delays and injuries.

“I’ve had moments like this – I’ve had fights fall through last minute. I’ve had injuries and camps (wasted),” Fletcher stated. “I’m no stranger to adversity and all of that. I said it so many times and it finally feels so good to say that that’s paid off. I’m here now.”

Now with a UFC victory under his belt, Fletcher is eager to stay active and climb the ranks.

“My mindset now is I’ve had the delays, I’ve had the inactivity, I’ve had periods of months at a time sitting out waiting. Now I’m here, I’m fresh, I’m injury free: Let’s go,” he said. “Let’s start racking them up – get some money behind me, get some wins behind me and get ranked, get working toward the title.”

With his impressive debut performance and unwavering determination, Nathan Fletcher has certainly made a strong statement in the UFC featherweight division.
