Mon Sep 09 16:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Nate Bargatze to Host Holiday Variety Special on CBS
Comedian Nate Bargatze is bringing the holiday spirit to CBS with a new variety special set to premiere in December. The hour-long show, executive produced by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video, will feature a mix of stand-up comedy, pre-taped sketches, and musical performances, all with a focus on the “heart and spirit” of Nashville during the holiday season.
Bargatze, a Tennessee native, will serve as master of ceremonies, guiding viewers through the festive program. The special will be taped at the iconic Grand Ole Opry on November 21st, a fitting location for the comedian who previously worked at the venue in an entry-level role before becoming a household name.
“I’m extremely excited to be creating this special as I have long been a big fan of variety, and we don’t see enough of it!” Bargatze said in a statement. “I want to make a great show for families to gather around and watch together and I couldn’t be in better hands than with this team.”
Bargatze will be joined by “Saturday Night Live” writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, with whom he previously collaborated on the viral “Washington’s Dream” sketch during his hosting gig on the show last October.
The special will air on CBS and will be available for live streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime, with on-demand viewing available for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the premiere. The title, air date, and time will be announced at a later date.
