**Paterson, NJ** – A Paterson police officer, Alberto Sanabria, 38, indicted earlier this year on stalking charges, is facing new accusations of threatening his alleged victim. According to court documents, Sanabria allegedly messaged the victim, stating he was going to beat her and warning her to “sleep with one eye open.”
The incident came to light through an affidavit of probable cause filed in the case. The victim alleged that Sanabria, who has been with the Paterson Police Department since 2017, showed up at her home in uniform on December 23, 2023, to drop off unwanted Christmas gifts.
The victim claimed in the affidavit that Sanabria was “abusing his authority” by using his police uniform to visit her residence.
The investigation into Sanabria’s alleged actions is ongoing.
