Country music star Morgan Wallen dominates the 2024 Country Music Association Awards nominations with a leading seven nods, including a third consecutive nomination for Entertainer of the Year. Wallen’s success is largely attributed to his hit collaboration with Post Malone, “I Had Some Help,” which garnered nominations in multiple categories.
The single, featuring Wallen, is nominated for Single, Song, Musical Event, and Music Video of the Year. His other nomination comes for his collaboration with Eric Church on the song “Man Made a Bar.”
Following Wallen with five nominations each are Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton, the latter of whom could potentially take home seven trophies. Stapleton’s album “Higher” is nominated for Album of the Year, and he is also credited as artist and producer on “White Horse,” a nominee for Single of the Year.
First-time nominee Post Malone and last year’s Entertainer of the Year winner, Lainey Wilson, are tied for four nominations, all for “I Had Some Help.”
Notable snubs include Beyoncé, whose acclaimed country album “Cowboy Carter” was not recognized. While the album topped the Billboard country chart, becoming the first by a Black woman to do so, Beyoncé did not receive a single nomination.
The CMA Awards, voted on by industry professionals, will be held on November 20th and broadcast on ABC at 8 PM Eastern.
