Tue Sep 10 17:07:00 UTC 2024: ## Annual Deerfield Valley Pilgrimage Walk Returns to Southern Vermont
**WILMINGTON, VT (September 11, 2024)** – The 3rd Annual Deerfield Valley Pilgrimage Walk, a weekend-long event promoting health and spirituality, will take place this weekend, Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th. The walk is open to people of all faiths, or no faith, and all fitness levels.
Participants can choose from various walking distances, ranging from 2 to 25 miles, along scenic trails and quiet roads through the beautiful Deerfield River Valley. The walk starts in Wilmington, Vermont and concludes at the Ephesus House in Jamaica, Vermont.
Organizers emphasize that the pilgrimage walk is not a fundraiser, but rather a personal journey for participants and volunteers. It is managed by an independent non-profit corporation and supported by local churches and civic organizations. A registration fee of $15 covers partial event expenses.
“This walk has become one of the most memorable experiences in the lives of many participants,” said Lincoln Rathnam, one of the organizers. “We invite you to join us and explore the spirituality of pilgrimage while enjoying the beauty of our valley.”
Refreshment stops, talks, a Saturday dinner, a closing ceremony, and a final barbecue will be provided throughout the walk. Rides are available along the route for those who become tired.
The walk kicks off at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 14th at the Old School Enrichment Center in Wilmington. Detailed information and registration can be found at http://www.vermontpilgrim.org.
