**LONDON** – Kate, Princess of Wales, has completed her chemotherapy treatment for cancer and will be gradually returning to public life, according to a statement released on social media.
The Princess, who revealed her diagnosis in March, shared that she is entering a “new phase of recovery” and will be undertaking “a few more public engagements” in the coming months.
While Kate, 42, expressed her commitment to staying cancer-free, she acknowledged that her path to full recovery is “long.” She also spoke about the emotional toll the past nine months have taken on her family, describing the “complex, scary and unpredictable” nature of the cancer journey.
Her public schedule is expected to be lighter for the remainder of the year, with possible appearances at Remembrance Day events in November and her annual Christmas carol concert.
The Princess has made two public appearances since her diagnosis: at King Charles III’s birthday celebrations in June and at Wimbledon the following month.
Kate’s cancer diagnosis followed a “planned abdominal surgery” in January, which led to further tests revealing the illness.
The news comes just months after Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III had also been diagnosed with a form of cancer, which was “caught early.”
The Princess’s recovery and return to public life is expected to be a gradual process, with her focus remaining on her health and well-being.
