**Rome, NY** – Julie A. Landers, a beloved member of the Rome community, passed away peacefully at home on September 7, 2024. She was 66 years old.
Landers was born in Ottawa, Canada, on April 6, 1958, to Fred and Joan Carter New. Prior to her retirement, she worked for Catholic Charities of Rome and Cigna of Colorado.
Landers was known for her vibrant imagination, her love for family and friends, and her deep devotion to her grandchildren. She was a strong believer in the power of faith and helping those in need. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, antiquing, gardening, and reading inspirational literature.
She is survived by her daughter Bethany Waller of Rome, son Daniel New and daughter-in-law Kelly New of Denver, brother Peter New and sister-in-law Grace New, sister Judy New, stepfather Robert Meschino, two grandchildren Madelyn and Jonathan, niece Danielle New, and nephew Peter New. She was predeceased by her son Matthew David Landers.
Funeral services will be private, and there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home.
