Apple unveiled its latest iPhone series, the iPhone 16, at its “It’s Glowtime” event, featuring four new models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. While the new iPhones boast a more powerful processor and some cosmetic upgrades, they maintain the same global pricing as last year.
However, Indian consumers are enjoying a price drop on the Pro models, with the iPhone 16 Pro starting at ₹1,19,900 and the iPhone 16 Pro Max at ₹1,44,900, a ₹15,000 reduction from their predecessors.
Despite this price advantage, the global price comparison reveals that purchasing the iPhone 16 series in India might not be the most cost-effective option. The standard iPhone 16 starts at $799 in the US, AED 3,399 (approximately ₹78,000) in the UAE, and ₹79,900 in India. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 in the US, AED 4,299 (approximately ₹98,000) in the UAE, and ₹1,19,900 in India.
This price disparity may encourage some Indian consumers to consider purchasing their new iPhones from other markets, depending on exchange rates and import costs.
