Tue Sep 10 17:39:00 UTC 2024: ## Former Bucks Guard Brandon Jennings Believes Achilles Injury Cost Him All-Star Status
**CHARLESTON, SC** – Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings believes that a devastating Achilles injury in 2015 derailed his career and robbed him of a potential All-Star status. Jennings, who was playing for the Detroit Pistons at the time, suffered the injury against his former team, the Bucks.
“I would’ve been an All-Star for sure if I didn’t tear my Achilles,” Jennings told reporters. “And I believe we would have made the playoffs that year in Detroit, and then I’d end up getting paid.”
Jennings was averaging 20.9 points and 7.9 assists per game for the Pistons before the injury. The team was on a hot streak, winning 12 of their previous 15 games. Although the Pistons were below .500 when Jennings was injured, he believes that the team’s fortunes could have changed had he remained healthy.
“Then again, who knows what happens after that?” Jennings added. “I feel like with the injury, that’s when the chaos started happening outside of my career. I felt like with the money, it would’ve probably been more chaos.”
Following the injury, Jennings struggled to regain his form and was eventually traded to the Orlando Magic. He later signed with the New York Knicks, but his career never reached the same heights.
Despite the setback, Jennings retired with over $40 million in career earnings. However, he still harbors the belief that he could have achieved even more had he avoided the Achilles injury.
