Mon Sep 09 15:04:10 UTC 2024: ## Andrew Garfield Finds Healing in New Film “We Live in Time”

**Toronto, Canada -** Andrew Garfield, known for his role as Spider-Man, has revealed that his latest film “We Live in Time” has been a deeply personal journey of healing. The film, which premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, explores the complexities of love and loss as Garfield’s character, Tobias, navigates a relationship with Florence Pugh’s character, Almut, whose medical diagnosis throws their lives into turmoil.

For Garfield, the film resonates deeply due to his own experience with grief. He lost his mother, Lynn, to pancreatic cancer in 2019. “I think art heals,” he shared with E! News, “and I’m in the privileged position where I have an outlet for my own healing, my own grief.”

Garfield believes that the process of healing through art is not just for the actor, but also for the audience. “Through art, when we are healing ourselves, we’re also healing an audience,” he explained. “Storytellers, we have to be wounded healers; we can’t just claim to have answers. We have to be healing ourselves in order to heal others.”

Garfield credits Pugh with creating a safe space for him to delve into his emotions. “Florence is such a wonderful actor, and such a good friend and a deep friend,” he said. “I think we had to create a proper trust between each other so we could travel to all those very intimate places together.”

Director John Crowley, who worked closely with Garfield, acknowledged the actor’s deep commitment to the role. “He took the most extraordinarily deep dive, emotionally,” Crowley said. “But I knew he would, that’s why I wanted him to play the role.”

“We Live in Time” is set for a limited release on October 11th.
