Mon Sep 09 13:15:12 UTC 2024: ## England Captain Harry Kane on Verge of Century of Caps

**LONDON -** England captain Harry Kane is poised to become the 11th player in the country’s history to reach 100 caps, achieving the milestone in Tuesday’s Nations League clash against Finland at Wembley.

The 31-year-old Bayern Munich striker earned his 99th cap against the Republic of Ireland on Friday and will join a prestigious list that includes legends like Sir Bobby Charlton, Frank Lampard, and David Beckham. Kane is already England’s record goalscorer with 66 goals and shows no signs of slowing down.

He has his sights set on exceeding Peter Shilton’s record of 125 caps and could even surpass Wayne Rooney’s 120 caps with a further 20 appearances.

“I want to play football for as long as possible and at the highest level for as long as possible,” Kane told BBC Radio 5 Live, citing Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, and Lionel Messi as inspiration.

Kane’s dedication to his country remains strong despite England’s recent disappointment in the Euro 2024 final. He believes he is in a good place physically and mentally to continue at a high level for years to come.

His impressive career and unwavering commitment to the Three Lions have established him as an England legend.
