Kent-based MasterChef judge and presenter Gregg Wallace has revealed the secret to his impressive five-stone weight loss – a slow and steady approach to making healthier choices.

Wallace, 59, shared a before-and-after photo on Instagram, revealing his transformation over the past two years. He credits his success to gradually shifting his lifestyle, rather than drastic changes.

“It took me a couple of years to go from 17 stone to 12 stone, but I’m pleased it took me a while,” Wallace explained. “What this meant was I did it so gradually, my lifestyle changed at such a slow pace, I hardly noticed it.”

Wallace identified three key changes that helped him shed the pounds: cutting out takeaways, snacks, and alcohol. He emphasized that the pace of weight loss is individual, urging others to be kind to themselves and focus on making healthier choices each day.

“Your bad days will be less frequent, and your good days will become your normal days,” he said.

Wallace, who was once at risk of diabetes and a heart attack due to his high cholesterol and weight, credits his new approach to cooking from scratch. This allows him to control the ingredients and enjoy healthy meals without restriction.

“I used to live a lifestyle full of takeaways, snacks and boozing,” he admitted. “But one day my doctor told me I had to change or I was heading for a major heart attack. That was a wake-up call.”

Wallace, who lives in Biddenden, Kent with his wife Anne-Marie and their son Sid, encourages others to embrace a gradual approach to a healthier lifestyle. His message of slow and steady change highlights the importance of sustainable habits for long-term success.
