**Chennai, September 10, 2024:** The Job Racket Wing of the Central Crime Branch in Chennai has arrested five individuals for defrauding 24 people of ₹1.5 crore under the guise of securing jobs with “Peace Scouts Guides India.”
The suspects, identified as Vimal, Arivazhagan, Chellapandi, Thirumurugan, and Udayakumar, were apprehended following a complaint filed by Esakkiammal of Chennai. Esakkiammal claimed she paid ₹6.5 lakh to the accused for the position of “District Organisation Commissioner” in Peace Scouts Guides India, a supposedly government-aided organization. However, she received only fake appointment orders.
Police investigations revealed that the five individuals had collected money from 23 other job seekers, promising them positions like Scout Master and Scout Guide Captain within the organization. These promises, however, turned out to be fraudulent. The police have recovered forged documents from the suspects.
