**Cincinnati, OH –** Dream Exchange, the first minority-controlled stock exchange in formation, hosted a fireside chat on August 14th, 2024, at The Heritage Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. The event brought together Black investors, local business owners, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs to discuss the critical issue of access to capital for minority-owned businesses.
The chat featured Dream Exchange Founder and CEO, Joe Cecala, and Managing Member of DX Capital Partners, LLC, Dwain Kyles, who engaged with the audience on the future of minority entrepreneurship and the implications of the Main Street Growth Act (MSGA). The MSGA aims to support the growth of small-cap businesses by establishing venture exchanges for early-stage companies.
“In today’s economy, access to capital is the lifeblood of innovation and growth,” stated Corey Johnson, an executive at Procter & Gamble and co-host of the event. “Dream Exchange is paving the way for a new era of financial empowerment for Black businesses.”
Cecala emphasized the event’s significance: “This fireside chat is more than just a conversation; it’s a pivotal moment in our journey, where we’re sharing our vision with some of the brightest minds in the business community.” He added that Dream Exchange is committed to empowering a new generation of innovators and leaders.
Kyles further emphasized the event’s impact: “This gathering was not just a conversation; it’s a movement. We are committed to changing the financial landscape for minority entrepreneurs by creating platforms that provide access to capital and resources that were previously out of reach.”
Dream Exchange is preparing to become the first minority-controlled company to operate a licensed stock exchange in the US. They are also championing the creation of venture exchanges, specifically designed for smaller, early-stage companies. The organization’s mission is to create an equitable marketplace that prioritizes ethics, humanity, and fairness in finance.
