Mon Sep 09 15:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Crisis Text Line Launches “You Good?” Campaign to Combat Loneliness and Encourage Check-Ins
**New York, NY – September 9, 2024** – In response to the growing epidemic of loneliness and social isolation, Crisis Text Line has launched a new campaign titled “You Good?” The campaign, which coincides with Suicide Prevention Month and runs through World Mental Health Day, aims to empower individuals to check in on their loved ones and offer support.
“Life can be overwhelming, and people can be very good at hiding the anxiety, stress, or loneliness they’re facing,” said Dena Trujillo, CEO at Crisis Text Line. “The simple act of asking ‘You good?’ lets people know they’re not alone and someone cares.”
The campaign, supported by partners such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, Xbox/Gears of War, and Discord, highlights the power of a simple question to foster connection and combat loneliness. Crisis Text Line has created text templates to facilitate these conversations, providing prompts for checking in on loved ones and addressing specific issues like finances, elections, or school stress.
“Discussing suicide openly helps create a space where people feel more at ease seeking help and sharing their experiences,” said Dr. Shairi Turner, Chief Health Officer at Crisis Text Line. “Open conversations can play a crucial role in reducing stigma.”
Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7 confidential text-based mental health support in English and Spanish. To reach out for support, text “YOU” or “Tu” (for Spanish) to 741741. For additional resources and conversation templates, visit the Crisis Text Line website.
The “You Good?” campaign emphasizes the importance of community and emotional support in combating the national loneliness epidemic. By encouraging simple acts of kindness and connection, Crisis Text Line hopes to create a world where nobody feels alone.
