**Faridabad, September 10:** Bittu Bajrangi, a self-proclaimed cow vigilante and accused in the July 2023 Nuh violence and subsequent Haryana riots, has filed his nomination as an independent candidate for the upcoming assembly election. He will contest from the NIT assembly segment in Faridabad.

The nomination was confirmed by District Election Officer Vikram Singh. Bajrangi, the founder of Gau Raksha Bajrang Force, has a history of controversial activities. He was implicated in the Nuh violence that erupted following a VHP procession, leading to communal clashes, seven deaths, and over 200 injuries. The violence later spread across Haryana, including cosmopolitan areas like Gurugram.

The Haryana assembly elections are scheduled for October 5. Bajrangi’s decision to enter the political fray has raised eyebrows and ignited further controversy in the already volatile state.
