**LONDON -** Princess Kate, the wife of Prince William, has announced the completion of her preventative chemotherapy treatment for cancer, sharing a message of resilience and appreciation for life.

In a personal statement released Monday, the 42-year-old royal revealed that the past nine months have been incredibly challenging for her and her family, as they navigated the “stormy waters and road unknown” following her cancer diagnosis.

Kate underwent major abdominal surgery in January, which led to the discovery of the cancer. She has been receiving treatment since then, with preventative chemotherapy starting in February.

While Kensington Palace has refrained from disclosing the specific type of cancer or details of the treatment, Kate emphasized the profound impact the experience has had on her perspective. She stated that the “cancer journey” brings “face to face with your own vulnerabilities” and a newfound appreciation for the simple things in life, like “loving and being loved.”

The princess also shared a heartwarming video filmed last month in Norfolk, England. The footage captures the royal family enjoying time together, including walks in the woods, playing cricket, and relaxing on the beach.

Kate has made a handful of public appearances since her health issues became known, including at the King’s official birthday parade in June and Wimbledon in July. She confirmed that she will be taking on a limited number of public engagements in the coming months, focusing on her recovery.

“My path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she said.

The Princess expressed her gratitude for the global support she and her family have received, adding that she looks forward to returning to full public duties when she is able.

Kate concluded her statement with a message of hope for others going through their own cancer journeys, saying, “Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
