**San Mateo, CA – September 9, 2024** – Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, the beloved PS5 platformer, is getting free DLC later this year, focusing on speedrunning and introducing new VIP bot cameos.

Game director Nicholas Doucet confirmed the news in an interview with Quest Daily, stating that the DLC will “focus on one of the features that people enjoyed in Astro’s Playroom: speedruns.” He added that the DLC will include leaderboards and feature more challenging levels.

Additionally, the team is looking into creating more accessible content, including levels with a “toy-like” feel that can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels.

Speculation is already mounting about potential cameo appearances in the DLC. The game’s credits thank numerous third-party developers for allowing their characters to appear, including several that are not currently seen in the game. This list includes Ubisoft (for Assassin’s Creed, Beyond Good & Evil, and Rayman), along with Croc and Worms, Stellar Blade, and Rise of the Ronin.

While these characters are absent from the base game, their inclusion in the credits suggests they may be saved for the upcoming DLC.
