**LOS ANGELES** – Comedian Ali Wong is set to bring her latest stand-up special, “Single Lady,” to Netflix on October 8th. The special, filmed during the Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2024 at The Wiltern Theatre, will see Wong delve into her post-divorce life and her search for love.
Wong filed for divorce from her husband, Justin Hakuta, in December 2023. This will mark Wong’s fourth stand-up special with Netflix, following her successful collaborations on “Baby Cobra” (2016), “Hard Knock Wife” (2018), and “Don Wong” (2022). In addition to starring, Wong will also direct and executive produce “Single Lady” alongside John Irwin.
Beyond her stand-up, Wong has enjoyed a prolific career on Netflix, starring in acclaimed series such as “Beef” (which earned her an Emmy and Golden Globe) and “Tuca & Bertie.” She has also lent her voice to animated comedies like “Big Mouth” and “Human Resources,” and starred in the romantic comedy “Always Be My Maybe.”
Wong’s upcoming projects include the lead role in the animated supernatural-action series “Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld” from Echo Wu.
“Single Lady” is one of seven new stand-up specials Netflix has announced, featuring a lineup that includes Bert Kreischer, Deon Cole, Fortune Feimster, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Jo Koy, and Michelle Buteau.
