**GREATER NOIDA, INDIA:** The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the facilities and management at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium in Greater Noida, where their historic first-ever Test match against New Zealand has been repeatedly delayed due to rain and a wet outfield.
The match, originally scheduled to begin on Monday, has yet to commence as the pitch remains unplayable. Despite frantic efforts by ground staff, including the use of electric fans and tarpaulins, the field remains unfit for play.
An ACB official, speaking to the Indian media, voiced their frustration, stating, “There are no facilities. We will never come here again. Our preference will be Lucknow. There are no basic facilities. There is complete mismanagement at the venue. Even the players are not happy with training facilities and everything.”
This strong statement has led to speculation that future Afghanistan home matches will be moved to Lucknow, which offers better infrastructure and facilities.
The ongoing delays and the ACB’s outspoken criticism have raised serious concerns about the suitability of the Greater Noida stadium for hosting international cricket matches.
