Tue Sep 10 16:36:58 UTC 2024: ## Abbotsford’s Gallery 7 Theatre Announces Auditions for Holiday Rom-Com “Parfumerie”
Abbotsford, BC – Gallery 7 Theatre is getting ready for the holiday season with a heartwarming production of “Parfumerie,” a romantic comedy set in Budapest during Christmastime 1937. Auditions for the show will be held on Wednesday, September 18th at 6:00 PM at the theatre’s rehearsal hall.
“Parfumerie,” adapted from the Hungarian play “Illatszertar” by E.P. Dowdall, is inspired by the classic Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks film “You’ve Got Mail” and the Broadway musical “She Loves Me.” The play follows the story of George, a parfumerie employee who finds his love life and career thrown into chaos when he discovers his secret pen pal is actually his co-worker, Amaila, whom he constantly bickers with.
“Christmas shows are becoming a tradition here at Gallery 7 Theatre,” stated Ken Hildebrandt, the theatre’s Managing Artistic Director. “We’re thrilled to continue that tradition with this heartwarming tale about love, forgiveness, managing priorities and the blessing of second chances.”
The production will be directed by Sarah Green, who recently directed “Miss Bennett: Christmas at Pemberley” for Gallery 7 Theatre. Green brings a wealth of experience in acting, design, and directing to the project.
“Parfumerie” will run from December 13th to 21st with evening performances at 7:30 PM and matinees on December 14th and 21st at 2:00 PM. Auditions are open to all performers aged 14 and up and will be held at the Gallery 7 Theatre’s Rehearsal Hall, located at #100 – 34595 3rd Ave. Interested individuals can learn more and register at gallery7theatre.com or by calling 604-504-5940.
