**MOSCOW, Sept 7 (CNA)** – Russian forces have captured the village of Kalynove in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Kalynove is located about 25 kilometers southeast of Pokrovsk, a key logistics hub held by Ukrainian forces.

Moscow claims to have annexed these regions, along with Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, in 2022, despite not having full control over them.

The ongoing conflict continues to escalate, with both sides claiming victories and facing significant challenges.
