**Paris, France** – The 17th edition of the Paralympic Games comes to a close today, September 8th, after eleven days of awe-inspiring athletic achievements. The Stade de France will host the grand closing ceremony, celebrating the participation of 4,400 athletes from 168 delegations who competed in 549 events across 22 sports.

The ceremony will feature a vibrant performance by 24 French electronic music artists, alongside traditional protocols including speeches, national anthems, and the handover of the Paralympic flag to Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Summer Games.

Notable performers at the closing ceremony include Jazz pianist Matthew Whitaker, violinist and singer-songwriter Gaelynn Lea, rapper and athlete Garnett Silver-Hall, and performing artist Anderson .Paak. The handover ceremony will feature a special performance of the US national anthem by Tony Award-winning actress and Broadway star Ali Stroker.

Indian athletes have made their mark at the Paris Paralympics, securing a total of 29 medals, including 7 gold, 9 silver, and 13 bronze. With latest additions from javelin thrower Navdeep Singh’s gold and sprinter Simran’s bronze, India currently ranks 15th in the medal tally.
