– With this, India’s total medal count has reached 29, including 6 gold, 10 silver, and 13 bronze medals.
– Navdeep had previously won a gold medal at the Asian Youth Championships in 2017 and a gold at the 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix.
– Despite a foul in his first attempt, Navdeep managed to secure a distance of 47.32 meters in his final attempt, surpassing the reigning Paralympic champion Sun Pengxiang of China.
– Navdeep’s performance has elevated India to the 18th position in the medal tally at the Paralympics and is considered the best performance by India at the Paralympics so far.
