Sun Sep 08 13:02:54 UTC 2024: ## Deep Depression Threatens Gujarat: Heavy Rains Predicted in Coming Weeks

**Ahmedabad, September 6, 2023:** While Gujarat is currently experiencing a respite from heavy rainfall, a deep depression is brewing in the Bay of Bengal and could bring significant rainfall to the state in the coming weeks.

The recent Typhoon Yagi, which made landfall twice in China, first in Hainan and then in Guangdong, has triggered concerns about its potential impact on India. The powerful storm, responsible for heavy rains and widespread flooding in China, is expected to move towards Vietnam after affecting the Philippines.

According to private weather agency Skymet, the remnants of Typhoon Yagi could reach India and contribute to the formation of a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal. This depression, expected to intensify by September 12-13, could lead to heavy rains in East and Central Gujarat.

Adding to the forecast, renowned weather expert Ambalal Patel has predicted a new round of rains for Gujarat in September. He anticipates a significant change in weather patterns starting from September 12-13, potentially bringing heavy rainfall to the state.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several states, including Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana from September 7th to 10th.

While Gujarat faces the threat of a deep depression, other parts of India are also expected to witness heavy rainfall in the coming days. Central Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, and several South Indian states are likely to experience heavy rainfall throughout the week.

The IMD and various weather experts are continuously monitoring the situation and will issue updates on the expected rainfall patterns and potential impact on different regions.
