– The Indian Navy requires Rafale-M fighter jets to be deployed on its aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, for which 26 jets have been decided to be purchased.
– The Defence Ministry has approved funds worth Rs 1.45 lakh crore for the procurement of aircraft and equipment.
– A deal worth Rs 70,000 crores has been signed for the construction of 7 warships, each weighing 8,000 tonnes.
– Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led a delegation to the US and discussed the purchase of Predator drones, with an agreement expected by October 31.
– The purchase of Rafale-M fighter jets will enhance the Indian Navy’s capabilities and bolster its maritime security.
– Additionally, approval is expected for the purchase of 3 more indigenous anti-submarine warfare ships by the end of the year.
