– The government is working on a comprehensive plan to address the issue, which includes increasing resources for intelligence, training more police officers, and reviewing legislation to ensure police are not restricted from acting in violent encounters.
– Mashatile encouraged police officers to use force to defend themselves in situations of violence and urged communities to work with the police to identify criminals.
– The government’s comprehensive plan to combat crime is set to be finalised by September 12.
