Despite growing up in poverty, her father refused to tell her she was a para-player and trained her alongside able-bodied children. She sacrificed one year of college to pursue Paralympics qualification and received training at the Gopichand academy in Hyderabad. Thulasimathi’s dedication and perseverance, along with support from her family and coaches, led to her success on the international stage.
