– The feud between Musk and judge Alexandre de Moraes has been ongoing, with Moraes vowing to fight disinformation and Musk claiming the supremacy of free speech
– Moraes accused Musk of disrespecting Brazilian sovereignty and the judiciary, positioning himself as immune to the laws of countries
– The suspension of X came just before municipal elections in Brazil and followed Moraes’s order to suspend X accounts belonging to supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro
– Musk is also under investigation for reactivating banned accounts and allegedly orchestrating disinformation campaigns in favor of Bolsonaro
