Legendary India cricketer and former India head coach Rahul Dravid’s son Samit, gave his reaction on earning his maiden selection in the India Under 19 team. Notably, Samit was picked for the upcoming multi-format series against Australia under 19 set to begin from September 21 in India. The two teams will be facing off in three One Day games and two four-day matches in Puducherry and Chennai. Commenting on his selection, the 18-year-old said that he was elated to be a part of the team and thanked his fans for the wishes. However, the right-handed hasn’t had a memorable time in the league scoring just 82 runs from seven innings at an average of 11.71 and a strike rate of 113.88. His highest score of the tournament came against Gulbarga Mystics where he scored 33 (24) with the help of four fours and a six. Earlier, Samit was the fourth-highest run scorer for Karnataka in the Cooch Behar Trophy 2023-24 with 362 runs from ten at an average of 36.20 with three half-centuries to his name and a highest score of 98.
