Julien Alfred from Saint Lucia won the 100m final at the Paris Olympics 2024, beating world champion Sha’Carri Richardson. This was Saint Lucia’s first Olympic medal. Alfred overcame personal tragedies and challenges to achieve this success. She was mentored by coach Edrick Floreal and credits him for her development as a sprinter. Alfred’s victory was a surprise but promises more success in the future.
