– The UPSC cancelled the selection of trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar and permanently debarred her from all future exams
– Khedkar was found guilty of violating CSE-2022 Rules by changing her name and parents’ names in the application
– She was issued a show cause notice for fraudulently availing attempts beyond the permissible limit
– Despite extensions, she failed to submit her explanation within the prescribed time
– UPSC is strengthening SOP to prevent such cases in the future
– Khedkar was also booked by Delhi Police for misusing disability and OBC quotas
– UPSC clarified that they only do preliminary scrutiny of certificates submitted by candidates
– UPSC does not have the mandate to verify the veracity of certificates submitted by candidates
