“Severance” Season 3: Fans Face Potential Wait Until 2027 Despite Renewal

Fans of the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series “Severance” may have to exercise patience as they await the arrival of Season 3. While the show was renewed in March 2025, a premiere date remains unconfirmed, with projections pointing towards a potential 2027 release.

The anticipated delay stems from the production timeline of previous seasons. Season 1 debuted in 2022 after filming concluded in 2021, followed by Season 2 in 2025 after wrapping production in 2024. With filming for Season 3 expected to resume this year, a 2027 release date aligns with this pattern.

Adding to the anticipation, Ben Stiller, executive producer and director of “Severance,” teased a “soon-ish” release during a November 2025 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” However, he acknowledged the time-intensive nature of the production, joking about the contrast between the show’s episode count and that of shows like “Young Sheldon.”

“Severance” has captivated audiences with its unique premise, following Lumon Industries employees who undergo a procedure separating their work and personal memories. The series garnered 27 Emmy nominations in 2025, securing eight wins, including acting awards for Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, and Merritt Wever.

The series stars Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, and Sarah Bock.

Seasons 1 and 2 of “Severance” are currently available for streaming on Apple TV+.
