Denver, CO – Despite approaching their regular-season finale with no game on TV this weekend, the Denver Broncos are receiving national recognition for individual player performances. ESPN’s Bill Barnwell recently unveiled his All-Pro teams, and the Broncos led the league with an impressive five selections, highlighting the team’s talent on both sides of the ball.
Offensive tackle Garett Bolles and defensive lineman Zach Allen earned coveted first-team All-Pro honors. Barnwell lauded Bolles as “underrated,” citing his exceptional pass protection stats. “Just 6.2% of his one-on-one blocks have resulted in pressures, the second-lowest rate in the NFL,” Barnwell wrote.
Allen’s disruptive presence on the defensive line also garnered high praise. “Allen’s just completely unblockable at times on the interior,” Barnwell noted, highlighting his league-leading quarterback hits and ability to funnel quarterbacks to edge rushers.
Joining Bolles and Allen on the All-Pro list were cornerback Pat Surtain II, outside linebacker Nik Bonitto, and safety Talanoa Hufanga. Bonitto, in particular, drew considerable attention from Barnwell, who claimed, “I’m just not sure we can put anybody ahead of Bonitto, who rates out as the best pass rusher in the NFL this season.”
This weekend, despite the lack of a televised game, Broncos fans can still get their football fix. The team will host a special broadcast near Lot B on the south side of the stadium from 10-11 a.m. MT. The event will celebrate the life and career of the late Demaryius Thomas, as the organization honors him and his Super Bowl 50 teammates.
