Anakapalli, India – January 4, 2026 (The Hindu e-Paper) – Following orders from Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha, the district police conducted a special operation targeting illicit liquor production within the Narsipatnam sub-division. On Sunday, Narsipatnam Rural police raided P. Lakshmipuram and Gadabapalem villages, uncovering a secret country-made liquor brewing operation hidden within cashew plantations on the outskirts of the villages. Authorities destroyed approximately 3,200 litres of Fermented Jaggery wash (FJ wash) at the site. Drums, vessels, and other equipment used in the illegal brewing process were seized by law enforcement. The operation is part of an ongoing effort to combat illicit liquor trade in the region.
